He was born in 1935 in Poznan. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk. In 1960 he began teaching at his alma mater, and served as pro-rector from 1981 to 1984. In his work he very often leans towards both still life and religious motifs - sometimes even combining the two subjects. The artist's works can be found in the collections of numerous museums in Poland, as well as in Brazil, France, Sweden and Germany, and have been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Poland and abroad. Bereźnicki has received many awards and decorations for his work, including the silver and gold medals "Meritorious to Culture Gloria Artis."
